Jameson is 21 and a half months old now...time has really flown! He is a big boy with a big personality! His desire to be self-sufficient combined with his perfectionism make for fun challenges for mom and dad! :)
March 24th was the first time Jameson said "No", which he pronounced "doh" for about a month. Prior to that he would just vigorously shake his head no about things like, "do you want to go to bed?". Now, he says "No" very clearly and very often. :)
He also started counting in April and counts from one to four very well.
About two weeks ago he picked up the word "help" and uses it very well when he needs something like his power wheels car turned away from a wall or something else he can not manage on his own. He also has been using "broken" very often over the last few weeks.
Over the last month he has been working on putting sentences together, as well. Most often he says things like, "hand, down, walk" when he is getting out of the car because he doesn't want to go in a cart or stroller. Jameson loves Toy Story...Buzz is his favorite and he says "Beyond" when he means fly. So, Buzz goes "beyond" as do his airplanes.
About two weeks ago, he was playing with his Mickey Mouse Clubhouse toy and Buzz Lightyear and an airplane. Jameson had Buzz going beyond and Marc picked up Mickey and started to make him fly. Jameson corrected daddy by saying "Bickey no beyond". He knows that Mickey doesn't fly, I guess. :)
There are lots of other things he's saying and doing that are adorable. His animal sounds have changed some over the last six months. He loves the lion (raar), bird (teet, teet), cow (boo), duck (qak, qak) dinosaur (rawr), bear (raar), cat (meow), fish (glub, glub), etc.
Another adorable thing he does is says okay, which he pronounces "kay" with quite the accent...it's so cute! If you ask him anything to which hisreply is yes, he says "kay".
His use of the word more has evolved. For the last couple months he has been saying "mo" when he wants another or more of something. This ranges from his cookies being gone and asking for "mo" to when his pants are not pulled properly to go over his socks (one of many of his OCD tendencies) and you pull one leg down and he wants the other one done, too. In any case, this week he has changed his pronunciation to "mo-re". Still cute, just growing up...happy and sad for mommy.
There are plenty of other adorable things he is saying, but those are some of the funniest and sweetest.
He is also really enjoying playing with the dogs lately. So, they are dealing with a toddler chasing and tackling them on a daily basis. Their love for each other is quite sweet albeit annoying to the dogs, I'm sure.
Well, that's a little synopsis of life with Jameson in the spring of 2010 thus far. Hope you enjoy keeping updated!
xoxo
